AttenuRad CT Eye Shield Designed for use in head and facial CT scans. AttenuRad Eye Shields mold over the nasal bridge with eye shield portions laying flat over the patient's closed eyes. No part of the eye shield covers the bony external orbital rim, otherwise artifacts may be created. Adhesive material ensures a tight seal with no air gaps. These eye shields, when utilized for CT of the eyes or face, are cut to a thickness of 1 mm, providing close to 40% dose savings for the eyes. The lens of the eye is sensitive to radiation during routine Cranial CT Scans. AttenuRadCT Eye Shields are a piece of bismuth-impregnated synthetic rubber designed to provide eye protection. The shield molds over the patient's nasal bridge, with the shielding portions laying flat over the patient's closed eyes. Adhesive material ensures a tight seal with minimal air gaps.
