Drop-lock knee joint locks out at full extension for maximum stability and can be unlocked when needed (such as for sitting). This is ideal for individuals with knee instability or weakness who need strong support to prevent the knee from buckling during standing and walking. When combined with the other components, the KAFO is stronger and lighter than traditional plastic models, with 90% less skin contact at the ankle-foot area. Open heel design eliminates potential sores and pressure points. Dynamic posterior lateral carbon fiber AFO provides dorsi-assist and helps propel the patient through their gait cycle.
